Priyanka Chopra goes on a crash diet to shape up for ‘Dil Dhadakane Do’

priyanka-chopraPriyanka Chopra who was last seen throwing some powerful punches in Mary Kom, will also be seen in Zoya Akhtar’s next ‘Dil Dhadakane Do’. The actress was required to have well-defined muscles to portray the part of a world champion boxer but in this film, she was required to look lean. In order to tone down, Priyanka resorted to crash diets in order to lose weight. 


‘Zoya warned me to lose all the muscles. I was not muscular but had acquired a bulked-up physique. I had to be in right shape as I was playing a girly role in Dil Dhadakne Do. I had to work for it. I had to go on a crash diet and lose shape,’ Priyanka told Indiatimes.



While the actor looked fighting fit in Mary Kom and worked hard to get in that shape, her decision to lose weight with crash diets is not something we would recommend to other young girls looking to lose weight. This is because of the ill-effects it has on one’s body. Here are a few of them:


Causes constipation, leads to weakness, loss of concentration, nausea, headache, depression, muscle loss, health risks like osteoporosis and many more.


How to spot a fad diet


It promises exaggerated results in few days which is too good to be true.
Will mostly have rigid eating rules.
It restricts you from eating a lot of food groups like carbohydrates, fats, etc.
It promotes ‘magic foods’.
The diet is sold based on a few testimonials without any research or studies done on its effect.
It doesn’t involve much exercise along with the meal plans.
