INTERMOT 2014 Live – 2015 Yamaha XJR1300 and XJR1300 Racer

Powered by the largest displacement air cooled engine.


The INTERMOT 2014 motorcycle expo witnessed the introduction of the 2015 Yamaha XJR1300 and XJR1300 Racer. The ‘evolved’ Japanese performance classics benefit from Yamaha’s learning from its association with top custom bike builders and the company says that the duo roll out from the factory, looking far from stock.

The 2015 XJR feature a slim fuel tank which helps further dramatize the already dramatic looking four-cylinder motor. Other visual updates come in the form of a solo-seat which gives a custom feel, a new tail cap design for the 4-2-1 exhaust pipe, aluminium side cover, tapered aluminium handlebar, redesigned instrument panel and a smaller headlamp.

2015 Yamaha XJR1300 Racer


The XJR1300 Racer adds a custom twist with several additional crafted parts and a cafe racer look. The cowling, front fender and seat cover sport a carbon finish and to support its cafe racer appeal, the XJR Racer offers a clip-on handlebar.

The XJR twins’ steel double cradle frame houses the 1,250 cc in-line four-cylinder air-cooled engine producing 98 PS and 108 Nm of torque. The transmission is a 5-speed unit.


The front fork is bestowed with the friction reducing DLC (Diamond-like-carbon) coated inner tubes while the rear gets Ohlins shock absorbers.

The standard XJR1300 measures 2,190 mm in length, 820 mm in width, 1,120 mm in height and 1,500 mm in wheelbase. The bike weighs 240 kg (on a full tank) and has a saddle height of 829 mm.
