Online imitation jewellery marketplace Voylla to open offline stores


voyllalogoOnline imitation jewellery store Voylla is planning to open 10 brick and mortar stores across the country by the end of this year, reports the Economic Times. The company, which is looking to cater to customers who prefer offline shops, will open its first outlet in Nagpur’s central mall this month.


 


Launched in 2012, Voylla currently offers about 50,000 designs on its website and had recently launched a multimedia advertising campaign for the festive season. Along with TV adverts, the company also run social media campaigns via Facebook and Twitter. The company had previously raised Rs 2.5 crore in its first round of funding in 2013 and had raised an undisclosed amount in its second round in March this year.


HolidayIQ partners JetAirways as its lifestyle partner


holidayiq-logoHoliday information portal HolidayIQ.com entered into a partnership with JetPrivileges, the rewards and frequent flyer programme from Jet Airways, as its Lifestyle partners. The partnership will allows members of the JetPrivilege programme sharing hotel reviews on HolidayIQ.com before the 31st of October, a change to win 25,000 bonus JPMiles.


The company said each published review will also be rewarded with a minimum of 100 JPMiles as users will accumulate 100 miles per review up to 3 reviews, 500 miles for 4-7 reviews and 1100 miles for 8 or more reviews.


TataSky launches poetic literature based interactive service


tatasky-logoDTH provider Tata Sky has launched a poetic literature based interactive service called ‘Actve Javed Akhtar’ in partnership with the said lyricist, reports the Economic Times. The service will have Akhtar read out poems and dohas by poets like Mir, Kabeer, Ghalib and Rahim, followed by the same sung by contemporary artists. The service will cost Rs 99 on a monthly subscription basis.


The company currently claims to have worked for a year on compiling poetry, shooting it with Akhtar and then making all of it into music. It partnered with the music TV channel Insync to collaborate with 50 singers and various composers to create original music for the service.


Amazon plans venture into packaged foods and beverages vertical


Amazon LogoOnline marketplace Amazon India is planning to offer packaged foods and beverages through its portal, starting middle of October, sometime before Diwali, reports the Economic Times. The platform is expected to start with about 100 gourmet products and later expand to include a greater variety of foodstuffs in the coming months.


Amazon is currently in talks with various brands like Kelloggs and Cornitos in India, to offer products via its packaged foods and beverages portal. Currently, Olympia Industries, a seller on Amazon, is reportedly stocking other food brands in Amazon’s Manesar warehouse as well. For now, the company will not offer fresh foods, like fruits and vegetables, via its marketplace.
