The 2014 Paris Motor Show will open its doors on the 2nd of October, and here is a list of important cars and world debuts set to happen at the show.
Audi TT Roadster:
Having unveiled the new TT coupe at the Geneva Motor Show, Audi will take the wraps off the TT convertible at the Paris Motor Show. Based on the same MQB platform, the TT roadster is reported to make use of four-cylinder turbocharged petrol and diesel engines.
The TT coupe goes on sale in India next year.
Audi S6/A6 facelift:
Audi revealed the A6/S6 facelift online, and their public premieres will happen at the Paris Motor Show.
Audi RS3:
In its entry-level range, Audi unveiled the S1 and S1 Sportback at the Geneva show this year. The brand will follow this with the RS3 at the Paris Motor Show. The RS3 will rival the likes of the Mercedes A45 AMG and BMW M235i, likely packing a 355 bhp 2.5-liter engine.
Audi R8:
A report states that Audi may decide to show the second generation R8 in Paris. Using a similar chassis as the Lamborghini Huracan, the new R8 would be powered by V8 and V10 engines, just like the current model.
BMW X6:
The second generation X6 was announced by BMW for a reveal at the Moscow Motor Show in August. However, the company has deferred the public premiere of the SUV to the Paris Motor Show. The new X6 should arrive in India next year.
BMW 2 Series Convertible:
The world premiere of the 2 Series Convertible will take place at the Paris Motor Show, BMW have confirmed.
Citroen C1 Urban Ride concept
The C1 with go-anywhere looks will be displayed to gauge customer feedback.
Citroen C4 Cactus Airflow
The C4 Cactus with a number of improvements to reduce fuel consumption and CO2 emission, with a mileage of 50 km/l, will be revealed.
Citroen Divine DS Concept:
Designed to show the future styling of the DS brand, the Divine DS concept will debut at the Paris show, says Citroen.
Dacia Dokker Stepway and Lodgy Stepway:
The Stepway variants of these cars will be shown in Paris.
Dacia Duster Air & Sandero Black Touch
Special edition of the Duster and Sandero inspired by aviation will be launched at the show.
Fiat 500X:
The 500X, or Fiat’s version of the Jeep Renegade, is expected to premiere at the Paris show with MultiJet diesel and TwinAir petrol engines. The 500X with a production body was caught testing recently.
Ford S-Max and C-Max facelift:
Based on Ford’s C/D platform, the second generation S-Max is expected to show its face in Paris. There are however no plans to bring the S-Max to India as it is too premium a product to compete in the mainstream market. The refreshed C-Max too would be shown.
Honda HR-V and new Jazz:
Honda have confirmed the European premieres of the HR-V crossover and Jazz hatchback to take place at the Paris Motor Show.
Honda Civic facelift:
A refresh for the European specification Civic is on the cards, and is expected to premiere at the show. However, it is highly unlikely to make an Indian debut as the European Civic is designed for Europe.
Honda Civic Type R Concept II
Honda will unveil the Type R Concept II that comes with 280+ PS power derived from a turbocharged 2.0L engine.
Hyundai i20:
The second generation i20 went on sale in India in August, and its European cousin has already been revealed with projector lights and a sunroof. The unveiling of the European-spec new i20 will take place at Paris, as confirmed by the company.
2015 Hyundai i20 Coupe:
The three-door i20 will likely be shown at the Paris show along with its 5-door sibling.
Hyundai H350
Hyundai’s new H350 targets the Mercedes Sprinter and will come as a panel van, passenger bus and flatbed truck.
Infiniti Q80 Concept, Euro-spec Q70 and QX70 S Design Limited Edition:
Infiniti have teased their flagship Q80 model in concept form, and announced a reveal at the show. The European model of the Q70 too would be shown along with the limited edition QX70.
Jaguar XE:
Jaguar’s most anticipated car this year, the XE, will be shown on September 9 to select media and consequently to the public at the Paris show. Based on an all-new aluminium rich platform, and powered by a new engine family, the XE will compete with the BMW 3 Series and Mercedes C Class.
Kia Sorento and refreshed Venga and Rio:
Kia revealed the third generation Sorento by the way of images in August. The full reveal of the Nissan X-Trail rival is scheduled to take place in Paris. The refreshed Venga and Rio will also be showcased at the show.
Lamborghini Concept:
Lamborghini have teased a mystery concept which will have its unveiling at the Paris show.
Land Rover Discovery Sport and special edition Evoque:
Land Rover will unveil the Discovery Sport at the Paris show, though an online reveal has already occurred. Essentially a replacement for the Freelander 2, the Discovery Sport gets a 5+2 seating arrangement. It will be produced at the company’s Halewood plant.
A special edition on the Evoque will also be showcased at the show.
2016 Mazda MX-5 Miata:
The successor to the iconic Mazda MX-5 will be shown at the Paris show. Based on the aluminium intensive SKYACTIV platform, the new MX-5 Miata weighs 100 kg less compared to its predecessor.
Mercedes-Benz S500 Plug-in:
The production-ready S500 Plug-in hybrid will be launched at the Paris show. Mercedes already revealed certain details about the car. Its fuel efficiency for example, would be about 33 km/l, yet it would sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.2 seconds.
Mercedes C63 AMG:
The performance oriented AMG version of the new C Class will make its premiere at the Paris show. The new C63 will make use of the newly-developed 4.0-liter V8 Bi-Turbo engine producing between 480 bhp to 580 bhp.
Mercedes AMG-GT:
The successor to the SLS-AMG will mark its public debut at the Paris Motor Show. The AMG-GT, like the C63, will be powered by the new 4.0-liter V8 engine.
Mercedes B Class Facelift:
The B Class facelift is almost confirmed to get a Paris debut.
Mercedes V 250 BlueTEC 4MATIC
The all-wheel drive V Class comes with a 2.1-liter diesel engine that develops 190 PS and 440 Nm, connected to a 7G-TRONIC PLUS automatic transmission.
Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV Concept-S:
The Japanese brand will show the SUV concept with a plug-in hybrid drivetrain at the show.
Opel Adam S
Prices of the 1.4-liter engined Opel Adam S that comes with a full aerodynamic body kit, lowered suspension and ten new color schemes, will be announced in Paris.
Opel Karl
Opel’s next generation small car will be showcased at the event.
Opel Mokka 1.6 CTDI
The Mokka powered by an all-new 1.6-liter turbodiesel engine that produces 136 PS and 320 Nm of torque will be debuted, ahead of its market launch early next year.
Revised Peugeot Exalt Concept:
A revised version of the concept Exalt will be showcased at the Paris show.
Porsche Cayenne facelift:
The mid-life refresh for the Cayenne was announced last month, and will be seen at the show. The Cayenne facelift launches in India next year.
Peugeot 308 GT:
The 308 GT is confirmed to have its premiere at the Paris Motor Show. The car will be available with a petrol and a diesel engine.
Peugeot Quartz concept:
A 500 bhp SUV concept, the Quartz, will be shown in Paris.
Range Rover Evoque SW1
Land Rover is paying tribute to Queen and country with the Evoque SW1 special edition.
Renault Espace successor:
Renault have confirmed that a successor to the Espace will debut at the Paris show.
Renault Eolab Concept:
Renault will reveal its most fuel efficient car to be ever made at the show.
Seat Leon X-Perience:
A crossover based on the ST is reported to attend the Paris show.
Ssangyong XIV Adventure and XIV Air concepts:
Ssangyong have announced that they will display two concepts previewing their compact SUV at the Paris show.
2015 Skoda Fabia:
Announced to enter production later this month, Skoda says the new Fabia will have its world premiere at the Paris show. A lighter weight, new looks and updated engines form the core values of the hatchback.
2015 Skoda Fabia Combi
The estate version of the new Fabia with 1,395 liters of boot space (when expanded) will also debut at the show.
2015 Smart ForTwo and ForFour:
Mercedes-owned Smart revealed the new ForTwo and ForFour earlier in the year, though the public get to see the new Smart duo for the first time only at the Paris Motor Show.
Suzuki Vitara:
Based on the iv.4 concept shown at the Frankfurt Motor Show last year, the Vitara will grace the Paris show this year.
Toyota C-HR Concept:
The C-HR SUV concept will be revealed at the show.
Vauxhall Corsa:
The refreshed Corsa has been spotted testing several times, but the official revealing is set for the Paris show. The hatchback is expected to come with design revisions and new engine options.
2014 VW Polo GTI facelift:
The refreshed Polo GTI will be shown in Paris.
2015 VW Passat:
The eighth generation Passat which was announced in July will be shown at the Paris motor show. Based on the MQB platform, it weighs lesser than the outgoing model and comes with fuel efficient engines. India should get the new Passat next year.
VW Passat GTE
The Passat GTE plug-in hybrid saloon will also be premiered at the show featuring a 156 hp 1.4L TSI engine fitted with a 115 hp electric motor.
2015 Volvo XC90:
The second generation XC90 will be shown in its entirety at the Paris show. Like many cars featured here, the new XC90 too launches in India next year.
