Fight against tobacco is a personal fight for me, says Dr Harsh Vardhan

(Photo: IANS/PIB)Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan’s efforts towards tobacco-related issues in the country have been appreciated so far. With an aim to tighten laws on consumption of tobacco-containing products in the country, the minister had earlier written to several states and territories about the sale of tobacco products despite its restrictions. He also launched an anti-tobacco website and initiated a campaign to showcase the plight of a cancer victim.


Assuring continued efforts from the ministry’s end, the Press Information of Bureau tweeted Dr Harsh Varshan saying ‘We are going to do everything we can to reduce #tobacco-related deaths in the country: @drharshvardhan’



Vardhan even admitted that the fight against tobacco is his personal fight, tweeting ‘Fight against #tobacco is a personal fight for me, as an ENT surgeon, I have seen its ill effects on my patients: @drharshvardhan.
