MPS_logoBangalore-based publishing services firm MPS Ltd’s wholly-owned subsidiary, MPS North America has acquired (pdf) the US-based full-service editorial and content creation firm Electronic Publishing Services (EPS). Though the value of the deal remains undisclosed, following the acquisition all employees of EPS will join MPS and continue working in their respective roles.

According to MPS, the acquisition will help the company strengthen its presence in North America and help develop its portfolio in the educational publishing market. It will also let the company offer a wider range of services with subject matter expertise in digital learning, to its clients in the educational publishing field.

New York-based EPS currently provides full-service editorials, content creation, art rendering and development, research and permissions, designs and production services to the higher education and professional publishing markets. It claims to be a comprehensive service, which delivers products from concept to ‘ready for manufacture’ or for electronic distribution. These services will now be merged with MPS North America, which also provides the aforementioned services to the educational publishing market, with expertise in solutions for print and online products.

MPS was set up in 1970 as an outsourcing unit of Macmillan Group and had been acquired by ADI BPO in 2011, from the UK-based HM Publishers Holdings. It currently offers various digital publishing solutions including eBook creation, data conversion, typesetting, magazine design and production, ad designs, comics and animations and others for publishers in India, US and Europe. The firm also offers BPO solutions which includes content distribution, subscription management, customer service, content aggregation and data mining.
