Update: The ‘Pay with Amazon’ site went live with Fommy.co.in and Shopyourworld.com and already has signups for integration with sites like Babyoye.com, Webmallindia.com, Cart2india.com, Sapnaonline.com, iBhejo.in (registration for this domain seems to have expired) and Mebelkart.com.

Amazon India has also launched a new section called the ‘Large Appliances Store‘ under the Home & Kitchen category. This section will feature home appliances like refrigerators, washing machines, air-conditioners and dishwashers, among others from brands like brands like LG, Samsung, IFB, Panasonic, Voltas, Godrej as well as from retailers such as Viveks, Shahs and Next. Currently, delivery is limited to a few select cities only, including Bangalore, Chennai, Mumbai, New Delhi, Hyderabad, Coimbatore, Ghaziabad, Gurgaon, Kolkata, Madurai, Navi Mumbai, Salem, Thane, and Trichy.

Earlier (October 8): Amazon has extended its ‘Pay with Amazon’ web payments service to India. (Hat-tip Pravin Jadhav) Pay with Amazon was launched in October last year as an alternative to third-party payments button and credit card payments on Amazon’s partner sites. Shoppers need to login to Pay with Amazon’s Indian page and use their existing Amazon account (or create a new account) to add credit and/or debit card details. They can add details of more than one card.

These card(s) will show up on the payments page for purchases made on Amazon India and Junglee.com. On partner sites, shoppers have to click on the Pay with Amazon button displayed in the Shopping Cart, this will lead them to the Pay with Amazon page where they need to enter their Amazon username and password, and finally select a payment method. The Pay with Amazon website seems to suggest that BabyOye.com is already onboard as a partner site, though I didn’t find the Pay with Amazon button on the site while trying to make a purchase.

Merchants interested in using this payments service need to register here. Payments made using the Pay with Amazon option on partner sites will be charged a fee per transaction. For credit cards and net banking 1.95% of the transaction value will be charged, and for debit cards its 0.75% on transaction value less than or equal to Rs 2000 and 1% on transaction value greater than Rs 2000. These charges are part of a promotional offer and are valid till September 30, 2015, after which the charges for debit cards will remain the same but for credit cards and net banking the fee will 3% per transaction.
