The next-generation Mahindra Scorpio is scheduled to be launched on September 25, 2014. The company had opened pre-bookings exclusively for existing Scorpio users during the 15-17 September period. For others interested in the SUV, bookings were opened on the 18th. Mahindra has given customers a choice of pre-booking the new Scorpio online through snapdeal.com, an e-commerce website. The pre-booking amount has been pegged at Rs. 20,000 and the balance amount can be paid at a selected dealership after the 25th and before the 29th of this month. The vehicle will be tentatively delivered within 4-6 months of booking on Snapdeal. In case the customer is unhappy with the final price of the vehicle, which will be revealed at the launch, the entire pre-booking amount will be refunded.
The new Scorpio will be available in six variants:
- S2 - Entry level variant with the m2DiCr engine
- S4 - Entry level variant with mHawk engine
- S6 - 2-DIN audio system, the exteriors would be body coloured
- S6+ - Driver airbag and ABS
- S8 - Dual Airbags and ABS standard, alloy wheels available
- S10 – Top end variant with dual airbags, ABS, alloy wheels, touch-screen infotainment system, rain and light sensors, steering-mounted audio and cruise control switches, reverse parking assist, Micro-Hybrid technology and more features
All variants will be available in 5 colours – Diamond White, Fiery Black, Mist Silver, Molten Red & Regal Blue. The last two colours are new.
The number of bookings per individual has been restricted to one.
