Apple’s Healthkit to be standardised to make health data easily available for its users

Apple iphone appApple launches a new software platform for Healthkit that collects data from fitness and health apps and filters this information to suit the individual needs of its users. The programme through the new health app installed on iPhone 6, makes health data easily available to its users. Forbes magazine reported that HealthKit acts a single stop point for applications that contribute to a composite profile of an individual’s health and activity.


Craig Federighi, senior vice president at Apple said ’Although software developers have created a myriad of healthcare devices and related applications, one cannot get a single comprehensive picture of their health profile. But with HealthKit, achieving this is made possible.’ With this software programme, Apple finally enters the multi-trillion-dollar health industry. Based on the huge customer base and vast market power, Apple’s HealthKit could indeed be a revolutionary health app for the worldwide healthcare industry.
