At the INTERMOT 2014, British sportsbike manufacturer Triumph Motorcycles showcased not one but three special editions of its Bonneville classic retro motorcycle namely the T214, NewChurch and Spirit.
Triumph Bonneville T214
The Bonneville T214 pays tribute to the 214 mph land speed record set by Johnny Allen astride a streamliner based on the Thunderbird 650. This record led to the Bonneville nameplate which then went on to attain an iconic status.
Coming to the special edition, the T214 is based on the T100 black edition and features a hand-painted blue and white color scheme that matches the record-setting bike’s livery. A smaller headlight and red contrast stitching for the seat are the other standout features.
Staring from this month, only 1,000 units of this bike will be sold worldwide and the pricing will be announced later.
Triumph Bonneville NewChurch
The Bonneville NewChurch is named after a location in Austria called Neukirchen which hosts the ‘Triumph Tridays’ event every year. No prices for guessing what the name translate to in English.
The Bonneville NewChurch is available in red/white or blue/white color themes with black mud-guards, headlight bowl, handlebar and mirrors. The alloy wheels are finished in a black and red combo while the seat sports a custom profile. The fuel tank proudly displays the brand’s latest badge.
To go on sale in the March – May 2015 period, the Bonneville NewChurch is not a limited edition and the pricing will be revealed closer to the launch.
Triumph Bonneville Spirit
The Bonneville Spirit is another T100-based special edition variant which can be identified by spoke wheels, mudguards, mirrors and handlebar in black.
The headlight is borrowed from the Scrambler while the shorter rear mudguard comes from the Thruxton. Like the Newchurch, the latest Triumph logo sits on the fuel tank.
The special edition motorcycle is slated to be launched in the spring of 2015 in the UK. (March to May 2015).
