Want to follow spring summer 2014 runway make-up trends? An expert lists the best that can jazz up your style statement. Celebrity make-up artist Selen Hurer lists the spring summer 2014 runway make-up trends and shares how to transform them into every day wearable styles, reports femalefirst.co.uk. Here are the eye make-up trends you can follow:
Neutral stunners
‘Catwalk make-up inspires impactful everyday beauty with an edge. Spring/summer 2015 saw the rise of edgy neutral eye make-up with natural hues like sienna, chestnut, designed to enhance your eye colour,’ said Hurer.
Pink and Purple
According to the expert, one can easily use this trend by simply applying shadow directly on to the eyelid and bring it up to the brow. Be bold and add another layer if you dare. Pink and purple shading was another big trend. ‘Use a subtle pink-purple to bring out the gold tones in green or hazel eyes, a bright plum to create contrast for dark eyes or try a purple with bronze undertones for blue eyes. Apply sparingly – a sheer wash of colour to draw attention to the eyes,’ said Hurer.
Cobalt blue
Cobalt blue is another shade that should be tried for the eyes. This electric blue shade is flattering on the eyes and makes you look glamorous in an instant. This shade can be either used in a metallic or matte base. If your eye colour is brown, this shade will make your eyes look so much more prominent. You could use it as part of a smokey eye combination with lighter shades of blue or simply with black. Janice suggests, ‘You can use a cobalt blue liner on the top lash line, and smudge it to give it a soft effect.’
Soft brown
Shades of soft browns look earthy as well as stunning at the same time. For a glamorous look you can always use or add a metallic finished eyeshadow of the same shade on to the eyelids. Those with deeper skin tones can opt for coffee, dark copper or bronze shades. For those with a wheatish complexion, you can try both dark and light shades in this category.
Eyeliner essentials
Finally, standalone black eyeliner made a runway comeback. ‘Worn in isolation, eyeliner makes a big statement – be it smoky, flicked or displaced. To really frame eyes go for a winged, bold eye liner paired with barely there bronzer and tone down lips, to let your eyes do the talking,’ said the expert while sharing the process of using this shades in our day-to-day lives.
